The BBC are reporting that Samia Ghadie got married today:

Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie has married businessman Matthew Smith in a church ceremony in Cheshire.

Ghadie, 22, who plays Maria Sutherland in the ITV soap opera, tied the knot with Smith, 29, at St Phillips Church in Alderley Edge.

Guests at the wedding included many of Ghadie’s Coronation Street co-stars as well as former Street actors.

Ghadie met property developer Smith at a charity event almost three years ago.

The couple became engaged on New Year’s day this year after Smith proposed at the Vatican in Rome.

Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah Platt, was among the younger members of the Coronation Street cast to attend the wedding ceremony. She was joined by Kate Ford, the Street’s Tracy Barlow.

The older members of the cast included Sue Nicholls, who plays Maria’s hairdresser boss Audrey Roberts, and Liz Dawn, the soap’s Vera Duckworth.

Former Coronation Street actress Jennifer James, who played barmaid Geena Gregory arrived at the ceremony with Sally Lindsay, who plays long-suffering Rovers Return landlady Shelley Unwin
